Local Taxation - Debt Enforcement

Many Local Authorities already recognise Dukes' ability to provide flexible services to meet their Debt Collection needs.

Dukes understand that local taxation collection must be handled efficiently, professionally but sensitively. The recovery processes follows strict documented procedures that start with an initial visit by a certificated bailiff, often within one day of receipt of your instructions.

Pre-Bailiff Service

Dukes are able to offer a Pre-Bailiff service immediately following the issue of the Liability Order. This is a letter that must be sent 14-days before the appointment of bailiffs. The benefits of this service are reduced administration, increased likelihood of payment upon receipt of this letter and for cases, which remain outstanding after 14 days; the bailiff recovery process can commence without delay. to ensure efficient debt enforcement.

Efficient Case Handling and Debt Collection

The status of all actions can be viewed by the client using our web enabled system, Client Web. It has real time information including full case history, record of all visits made, fees applied, telephone calls, correspondence and payments received.

Whilst complaints are rare, Dukes will handle them in accordance with your formal complaints procedure, where all communication is available to the Local Authority together with their response and recommendations.

For debt enforcement, Dukes offer a professional and accountable service.
