Dukes awarded ISO9001: 2000

MAY 2007

In November 2006, Dukes took the decision to start working towards ISO9001: 2000 accreditation. For some years, Dukes had been an ISO registered company but recognised that true ISO accreditation would be a much more effective tool for the Company as we moved forward. Rachel Hughes, Associate Director began work as Quality Manager developing our Quality policy and procedures alongside Richard Fielding, our ISO Consultant from Merseyside SME Development Centre. A target date for being awarded accreditation was set for the end of May 2007. In mid-May a 3 day Audit via external Auditors, ISOQAR took place, which involved intensive audits at both Dukes sites, Stone and St Helens together with time spent shadowing Bailiffs in the field. We are pleased to announce that we were awarded ISO accreditation without any non-conformances, major or minor, being raised and received our formal Certificates on 17 May 2007.

Associate Director Rachel Hughes said "I am grateful to all my colleagues at Dukes for their hard work in ensuring implementation was a seamless process. In addition, the contribution from Richard Fielding cannot go without comment, his assistance in devising processes and procedures was a great help. Being awarded certification within a relatively short timescale is a marvellous achievement for Dukes, serving to reinforce that the foundations were already in place. I look forward to continuing to work with our team to ensure that ISO remains in the fore and am already preparing for our next goal of being awarded another accreditation."
