Dukes 1st charity golf day

JULY 2007

In our bid to support our chosen charity, our business development team spent some time preparing Dukes first charity golf day.

Many thanks to all those who participated in our event and made the day a roaring success on Thursday 28 June 2007 at the Wychwood Park Golf Course in Crewe Cheshire. The course is a PGA Tour Standard, which was always going to test the players even if it didn't rain! As the teams started to arrive for registration and their bacon butties the weather was looking favourable. After team photographs they tee'd off at 10 minute intervals in the morning and stopped at the half way house for drinks and snacks where they were met by Dukes representatives, before setting off to complete the last 9 holes. The rain did arrive late in the afternoon but only after all the teams had sat down to enjoy the presentation dinner.

Colin Naylor Managing Director presented prizes for nearest the pin, longest drive, 1/2/3 individual prizes and team prize, before conducting an auction with all the proceeds again going to our chosen charity.

We are pleased to announce that we managed to raise £850 to present to MacMillans Cancer Support and plan to make this an annual event. If there are any teams interested in attending next years charity golf day then please send an email to sdewhurst@dukeslimited.co.uk

“Just a quick thank you for your hospitality and a very enjoyable golf day. you should be proud with the funds you have raised not only from the day but also the race for life event.”
